The vision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is to have a commercialized, modernized and one of the most competitive agricultural sectors in Eastern and Southern Regions by 2025
To fulfill its mandate and meet its commitment to national strategy for agricultural development, the ministry has set the following as its medium–term strategic objectives:-
* To ensure sustainable National Food Security;
* To increase Agricultural production, productivity and quality;
* To develop and promote appropriate agricultural technologies
* To promote integrated and sustainable use and management of natural resources to conserve environment;
* To increase capacity of LGAs to deliver quality agricultural services
* To increase private sector participation in agriculture
* To enhance capacity of MAFS to carry out its operations efficiently and effectively
* To internalize cross-cutting issues and promote linkages between agriculture and other sectors of rural development
* To promote services that reduce HIV/AIDS infection by year 2008
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is the Central Statistical Office of Tanzania. It conducts Censuses and Surveys which yield a wide range of economic, social and demographic statistics.
The new Act establishes Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) and decentralizes procurement to Procuring Entities.

The SCP's objective is to provide local authorities and their partners in the public and private sectors with improved Environmental Planning and Management (EPM) capacity by building on the principles of Agenda 21 of the United Nations. The EPM approach emphasizes the principles of bottom-up planning, stakeholder participation in decision making, building of partnerships between local governments and stakeholders, negotiation and consensus building as well as inter-sectoral coordination.
